WEEK 6
After a week without attending classes today I returned to the university. Not having been able to work on the project during these days has slowed me down a lot. So I was not able to present much today. I talked to Inbal and explained where I was at the moment and what I had done.
The pages I had designed so far worked well in her opinion, but she recommended me to change the layout of some panels and to prolong the suspense from the third page to the fourth.
I still have doubts about how I want to finish the comic, it occurred to me that in order to finish it quickly but without being rushed I could show that the children in the story were also skeletons and were looking for the main character or that they were simply big fans of the legends of paranormal things and finding a living skeleton was a dream come true. By changing the last panel on the third page, where the main character is revealed to be a skeleton, it makes me have to sum up this whole denouement in 1 page, unless I decide to do 5 pages in total.
I spent today rearranging some panels and drawing others. For now I only have rough sketches of the story but I hope to progress quickly and start doing the line work and adding the colours and textures.
I'm excited about this project but at the same time I see that I won't be able to invest the amount of time I want to, without interfering with the new work we start on monday next week.
At the end of the lesson we did a semi official presentation of the projects. It was helpful to see the work of the rest of my peers, the different aesthetics they each created and the themes of their stories. I was a little afraid to do something that looked very different from the rest of my classmates' novels, but seeing the diversity of work gives me the confidence to create whatever I want.
